On Monday, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement informed colleges that all overseas students will have to leave the U.S. or shift to any other college if their schools adopt the only online mode of teaching this fall semester. The government will not issue new visas to students at schools, and universities that provide a mix of classroom-based and online-based learning. Such classes will be prohibited from taking their classes online.
Sue Roberts, the Associate Provost for Internationalization at the University of Kentucky, said that this sudden directive from the Trump administration is quite shocking to every university in the US. After getting this news, all international students who are enrolled in different colleges in the US are going through a very bad condition. This declaration has put all the affected foreign students in the country in limbo.
Roberts is well aware of the fact that the future for around eight hundred students on campus relies completely on the way the studies will be conducted in the fall semester. Currently, the University is planning to provide a combination of conventional classroom-based classes, hybrid classes, and online classes. This implies that international students in the UK can continue to stay in the country this fall semester, but the situation can change at any time.

We do not have any idea what is happening or what is in store for the future. Just because the situation is under control right now, does not confirm that it will remain the same in the future. Even after staying in Lexington for around six years, she is anxious that she will need to return to Mexico and complete her degree there.
