Marketing Strategy and Plan Assignment

Introduction/Description

Welcome to the Professional Portfolio unit NCS3202. This unit facilitates the transition from the role of the nursing student to Registered Nurse. Emphasis is placed on factors that contribute to the scope of practice of Registered Nurses in Australia, initial employment, including leadership and management skills, as well as the obligations in maintaining registration and professional standards for practice.

Teaching & Learning Approach

This is an on campus and on‐line unit.

  • Lectures are in the format of face-to-face and on-line
  • Tutorials will be delivered across 6 weeks on the JO and BU campus and Adobe Connect sessions will be run along with self-directed instructions for on-line students.
  • On‐line students must be self‐motivated and complete the lectures, reading, and all set activities to ensure that they have covered the course content in preparation for their assessments.

As you are now approaching completion of your studies, good time management skills need to be embedded into your current and future practice as a nurse. I would strongly suggest that you do not leave your submission till the last day; rather you work on your assessments enabling you to focus on your studies whilst working around any practicum or personal commitments or other units.

Learning Outcomes

The assessment items support your achievement of the learning outcomes for this unit.

On completion of this unit students should be able to:

  1. Describe the professional, corporate and clinical governance structures that define the role of the Registered Nurse.
  2. Explore the aspects of role transition for the novice Registered Nurse.
  3. Develop a personal plan of entry to practice.
  4. Construct an application for a position that utilises sound argument and is supported by evidence.
  5. Construct a continued professional competence/development plan.
