• Your summative assessment for Managing Knowledge and Information Systems is a coursework
submission. • You are required to submit your assessment via Turnitin online access. The list of references, appendices and footnotes are not included in the word count. The summative assessment of managing knowledge and information systems module is a coursework
submission as a written report. It is important to appreciate the significance of academic and professional sources and recognise the limitations of web sources. Therefore, you are required to use only peer reviewed published academic/professional articles, books, business/industry reports to support your discussions.

2.1 Assessment Questions 1. Discuss the strategic importance of knowledge management in helping organisations to achieve their long‐term objectives. (20 marks)
2. Evaluate the impact of emerging technologies like radio‐frequency identification (RFID) on the efficiency and effectiveness of manufacturing processes. (20 marks)
3. Discuss one implementation challenge and one success factor of RFID technology in manufacturing
sector. (20 marks)

providing supporting citations from peer reviewed sources. For excellent performance, the student must show evidence of quality research and wider understanding of KM strategy in implementing KM practices.
2. Evaluate the impact of emerging technologies like radio‐frequency identification (RFID) on the efficiency and effectiveness of manufacturing processes. 30 Students need to provide a thorough examination with supporting arguments form peer reviewed sources addressing the impact of RFID technology on the efficiency and effectiveness of manufacturing processes. For excellent performance students demonstrate good knowledge and understanding of RFID technology and demonstrate their ability to analyse the impact of emerging technologies on operational excellence in context of manufacturing sector.
3. Discuss one implementation challenge and one success factor of RFID technology in manufacturing sector.
20 Students need to demonstrate a good knowledge and understanding of the limitations RFID technology and factors contributing to the successful integration of such technology into the manufacturing processes.
