Assessment Component 1: Individual Skills Portfolio

LinkedIn learning modules: Submission Date: 16th Nov 2022

*Please note your portfolio must be submitted to Turn-it-in by 16th Nov 2022 by 4pm.

Assessment 1 – 80% (Submission deadline 16th Nov 2022)

You are expected to submit an Individual portfolio which includes, evidence of completing five LinkedIn Learning modules and provide 1200 – 1500 words summary of the 5 modules. This should be submitted along with the evidence of completion which can be obtained by downloading certificate or a print screen of your certificate of completion clearly showing your name. (Ensure that you sign into LinkedIn with your UEL student details).

LinkedIn Learning Modules to complete are:

  1. Developing a Critical Thinking Mindset (Beck Saltzman 2021)
  2. Leading through relationships (Simon Bailey)
  3. Emotional Intelligence Basics (Nicole Tetreault and Madecraft)
  4. Connecting and Collaborating in a Virtual or Hybrid Workplace (genConnectU)
  5. Career Advice from Some of the Biggest Names in Business

Your submission should be one single document which contains, evidence of completion of each LinkedIn learning module and a 1200 -1500-word summary (Approximately 300 words per module) demonstrating key learning from taking the module and how the skill can give you competitive advantage in your career or make you more employable.

You can access LinkedIn Learning via Moodle homepage, click on the third tab (student links) use the drop-down menu button and LinkedIn Learning is the 3rd on the list.

Reflective report (1000 -1200 words)
Assessment 2: 20% (Submission 7 th Jan 2023 @4pm)

Write a reflective report (1000 – 200 words) based on specific job description (screenshot attached to your submission) demonstrating how your newly acquired knowledge and skills from taking the Mental Wealth module prepares you as an ideal candidate for the identified job role. Your reflection should include reflection on relevance of skills modules taken for the first assessment (e.g. Developing a Critical Thinking Mindset, Leading through relationships, Emotional Intelligence Basics, Connecting and Collaborating in a Virtual or
Hybrid Workplace, Career Advice from Some of the Biggest Names in Business) And importance of wellbeing interventions in managing your career.

The LinkedIn module to complete for assignment 2 is:
Developing Resilience and Grit (This lesson consist of 8 short modules)

You should address all the following points in your reflective report.

  1. Identify a job role, job advert and job description (include in appendix)
  2. Reflect on how your newly acquired skill could give you an employability advantage
  3. Show linkage between skills & competences required for the future role and current employability skills & competencies
  4. Reflect on how you would leverage the wellbeing interventions and your newly acquired skills / competencies to position yourself for future career success.

Structure of the submission:

  1. Cover-page
  2. Introduction
  3. Identification of the job role and key skills requirements
  4. Reflection on wellbeing interventions and linkage to newly acquired skills successful career.
  5. List of references.

Weighting:

Assessment 1 = 80% of module marks
Assessment 2 = 20% of module marks

Due date / time:

Assessment 1 – 16th Nov, 2022
Assessment 2 – 6th Jan, 2023

Learning outcomes assessed:

Learning outcomes 1 -9.

Re-sit Information

When a student is required to re-sit any of the assessment components, the student should:

  1. Re-sit Component 1 – Individual Skills portfolio

    a. You have submitted at the first opportunity but failed: The students should use the provided feedback for the first submission and complete the task again by improving their first submission. The time/day of the presentations – TBC

    b. You have not submitted at the first opportunity: in this case you have to complete the task for Component 1 (please see above). The time/day of submission – TBC.

  2. Re-sit Component 2 – Reflective report

    a. You have submitted at the first opportunity but failed: The student should use the provided feedback for the first submission and complete the task again by improving their first submission. The time/day of the submission – TBC.

    b. You have not submitted at the first opportunity: in this case you have to complete the task for Component 2 (please see above). The time/day of the submission – TBC.

Please note that a re-sit will be capped at 40

Assessment marking criteria

Component 1 – Individual skills portfolio

Criteria
Evidence of 5 modules completed
Skills summary highlights the relevance, cultivation and uses of the skill with at least one reference per skill.
Overall presentation (Language, includes academic references and good structure with effective subheadings

Component 2 – Individual reflective report

Criteria
Job role is identified
Evidence of reflection on job role skills requirement
Evidence of reflection on wellbeing interventions and skills acquired on the module and how these relates to successful future career

How to submit your work:

All submissions for HR5040 will be made electronically via Turnitin through Moodle. Please note that there will be a 24-hour late submission link for those students who miss the deadline. Late submission attracts -5% mark penalty.

REASSESSMENT ARRANGEMENTS

If you fail either of your assessment component, you should get in touch with the module leader as soon as you receive your result. There will be another chance to improve on your first submission and resubmit with guidance from the module leader.

Reassessment instructions will be made available via moodle, 4 weeks after your first attempt.
