Koh, T. T. B., Plant, A. J., & Lee, E. H. (2003). The new global threat: severe acute respiratory syndrome and its impacts. World Scientific.

According to this book, this is a disease that has globally attained a bad name. The corona pandemic affects people worldwide; the crisis is also restricting everyday life around the globe. The book provides answers to the most important questions. The book describes this Acute Respiratory Syndrome, which has plagued the world in recent months. The pathogen initially named 2019-nCoV, first appeared in China and is one of the coronaviruses.

Around 8,000 people worldwide contracted the SARs pathogen at that time – around one in ten patients died. The book’s articles define Coronaviruses as an infection that can affect humans and various animals, including birds and mammals. A total of seven human pathogenic coronaviruses are known with SARS-CoV-2.

Van Dijk, C. N. (2020). COVID-19: https://jisakos.bmj.com/content/jisakos/5/3/115.full.pdf

This article by Niek Van Dijk explains that the COVID-19 pandemic has had a huge impact on everyone and affected our daily activities and practices. As the author writes this article, elective orthopedic medicine care has come to a virtual standstill. The author identifies that many conferences have been canceled, and others are postponed.

Niek Van Dijk ranks in his risk assessment the danger to the population’s health across the world since March of this year. Besides, the likelihood of severe and even fatal courses increases with increasing age and existing medical conditions.

According to the RKI, in most of the available studies, children were not likely to be affected by SARS CoV-2 than adults. In most studies, children were less susceptible to infection, but there was also a survey that the likelihood of disease was similar. The corona pandemic and its effects have hit the world economy and many regions hard.  The Federal Government has also launched an extensive economic stimulus program.  To present the requirements for a successful restart of the economy and the challenges and further needs of the companies, the IHK organization carried out a fourth nationwide company survey. Especially in such a difficult phase, our survey’s importance shows up as an important decision-making basis for political action.

McAleer, M. (2020). Prevention is better than the cure: Risk management of COVID-19: https://www.mdpi.com/1911-8074/13/3/46/htm.

This article describes how this new coronavirus was reported in December 2019 by the World Health Organization. The disease is peaked in February 2020 and named COVID-19. This was when the disease was detected in all six continents. As with influenza and other acute respiratory infections, coughing and sneezing rules, good hand hygiene, and distance from the sick protect against disease with the coronavirus.  The article sheds light on the Corona pandemic as a major challenge for the entire economy across all world regions. The daily updates since early February have indicated a gradual rise day by day. The author evaluates the risk management approaches based on the Global Health Security Index on global health in 195 countries. This pandemic started as unknown pneumonia detected first in Wuhan Province of China. According to their statements, the companies are then able to start up quickly. One-third reports that they can start business again within two weeks. The majority of responding companies still hope that their business will return to normal in 2020.

This article identifies that COVID-19 death rates are high among older adults. It shed light on the impact of this pandemic on society. The article describes the contagion and describes the severity of related symptoms among the elderly. Shaking hands should be avoided. The coronavirus and its effects hit the economy enormously. Thanks to the first worldwide health survey results, the federal and state governments have initiated measures. However, not all of the problems facing the economy have been identified, let alone solved.

The author’s arguments favor the self-isolation strategies proposed as a preventive measure for vulnerable groups. It also scrutinizes the Long-term care facilities, which have worsened the epidemic effects because they often cause death traps.  Despite the initial easing, the economy in the region continues to be hit by the corona pandemic. Around every second company is now operating again, although still to a limited extent. The responding companies complain about lower demand for their products and services and the continued cancellations.

In this article, the writers came together to analyze the gaps in the study about COVID19 and propose recommendations to seal the cracks. The major gap identified was that despite an increase in the number of articles discussing the continuously rising coronavirus cases is a lack to the documentation of clinical practices to keep the medical team close. The researchers outlined how most articles have only been researching the origin and the transmissibility of the disease, ignoring the clinical practices used to develop health policies to counter the epidemic. The article focuses on identifying the gaps in the study and providing a clear study line for future health policies to provide safety guidelines for clinicians.
